My To-do pile grows....

This is a Disappearing 9-Patch. It is the very first quilt I attempted at the end of 2014. Because I was starting to quilt, I received a bunch of gift certificates for Christmas and went shopping and this fell to the wayside. I never leave a project unfinished even if it takes me years to get back to it. *cough*

So, I am finishing this up and will be gifting it to my younger sister once I have it all quilted...but it IS in line. I still have to finish Zack's black, red, gray and white quilt first. I am ordering the batting for that next week! This is all fabric my Mom had given me, and the red fabric was left over from kitchen curtains I had made.

Next!

I am so loving this one. I saw one kind of like it on Pinterest. Without the pattern (Pancakes by Tula Pink), I said.."I can do this!" And so I am...all the fabric was already in my stash :) My blocks are 3.5x5 inches. I am not sure if I used the correct measurements..but close enough!

At this point, the light green blocks were starting to have an optical illusion effect which was really cool. They are light enough that with the white corners, they appear to be going in the opposite direction sometimes. They look as if they are tumbling around. Everyone who sees it has been saying it messes with their eyes a bit. Didn't expect it..but so glad it is happening..how fun is that?!

I have a few more rows to put on, then some borders and this too will get in line for sandwiching and quilting.
This will be another gift for my cousin who helped me out so much when I tore my meniscus in my knee and had surgery.
She always appreciates what I am working on so I know she will value it as I value her.

That is all I have! thank you so much for stopping by, comments are welcome!

Zack's Quilt

I started quilting in January 2015. I have made one quilt for myself. One for my father, one for my grandson, one for my sister, I have one I am working on for my cousin who helps me out all the time...and today, I have started one for my oldest son, Zack. Before I can get back to doing for myself..I have to make one for my younger sister, my younger son and my other grandson. And that's it! After that, it is going to be all about me for a while! :)

here is the pattern I created for Zack's Quilt:

Here are my fabric selections:

Those stars glow in the dark by the way and this gives me the giggles, I can picture him bringing a girl into his room (he has an apartment), turning out the lights and his bed starts to glow...haha...

I cut out fabric for the King's Crown block today:

And here is all my fabric, cut and ready to start sewing on...tomorrow.

I will keep you updated with my progress! Thanks for stopping in!
